Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy governs the use of TheGimme App ("the Service"), which is owned and operated by Broschb Labs LLC.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile picture, nickname when you create or modify your account.
  • Gameplay Data: Scores, handicaps, rounds played, clubs used, strokes gained data, course information.
  • Social Data: Friend connections, messages, leaderboard rankings, and social interactions.
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting us for support or sending feedback.
  • Payment Data: When subscribing to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers.

2. Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise GPS location to show nearby courses and record where rounds are played. Location data is not stored permanently unless associated with a round.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent in the app, and interaction patterns.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. This collects anonymized usage data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Calculate handicaps and provide golf analytics.
  • Connect you with other golfers through social features.
  • Send transactional emails (confirmation, password reset, billing notifications).
  • Send occasional product updates and tips (you can opt out of marketing communications).
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you choose to share scores or profile information with other users.
  • Service Providers: With trusted third parties who help us operate the Service:
    • Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
    • DigitalOcean — application hosting, database, and storage of uploaded files such as profile pictures.
    • Brevo — transactional and product emails.
    • Open-Meteo — weather conditions during a live round. We round your coordinates to roughly one kilometer before sending them, and we send no account or identity information.
    • Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics; Google reCAPTCHA — spam protection on our contact form.
    • Map tile providers — OpenStreetMap and Esri ArcGIS on the web, and your device's built-in map provider (Apple Maps or Google Maps) in the mobile app. These receive your IP address and the map area being viewed in order to serve map imagery.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption of all data in transit between our apps and our servers (TLS/SSL).
  • Secure password hashing using bcrypt — we never store your password in a readable form.
  • Uploaded files, such as profile pictures, held in object storage that is encrypted at rest.
  • Regular security audits and monitoring.
  • Access controls limiting employee access to user data.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Our servers, database, and file storage are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for anonymized or aggregated data used for analytics.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
